Owners of The Cornell Inn, TripAdvisor’s number one bed and breakfast in Lenox, Massachusetts officially announced the acquisition and as of this week the reopening of their second historic Berkshires retreat, The LakeHouse Inn. Located just five minutes away in Lee, Massachusetts, the 119-year-old inn sits on two acres of lakefront property offering guests a 7,937-square-foot escape with 500 feet of waterfront space on Laurel Lake. Reservations are available starting February 2023.
The expansive Lakeview property features 14 queen and king-bed suites and guest rooms all recently renovated to accommodate modern conveniences that accentuate the inn’s historic charm. Lakeside rooms feature private balconies with picturesque views of Laurel Lake while larger top-floor rooms provide more guest room and bathroom space to unwind and relax while also offering easy access to the inn’s outdoor spaces.
“We opened The Cornell Inn with the idea of running the traditional hospitality model in a different way than we had seen it run before and it works,” said Kurt Inderbitzin owner of The Cornell and LakeHouse Inns. “We focus on kindness to employees and guests, and we truly believe that investing in our employees’ growth will benefit them as well as their work and interaction with our guests providing an experience that is the definition of what true hospitality should be.”
Loyal return and new guests will continue to enjoy all of The LakeHouse’s charmed activities including complimentary kayaks and paddle boards, easy access to swimming in the pristine Laurel Lake, comfortable outdoor seating for cocktails, wine and cheese hour, and the addition of local entertainment. Onsite parking, complimentary Wi-Fi, and beach towels provide additional convenience to add ease to the natural opulence of The LakeHouse Inn.
“It’s really remarkable for a hotel to have 500 feet of lakefront property with western sunsets on an undeveloped lake anywhere,” Inderbitzin continues. “My wife and I were enamored with its natural beauty, and we can’t wait to share our small piece of paradise with the visitors to the Berkshires.”
The new addition of an outdoor deck will allow guests and the local community to enjoy one of Berkshire’s most picturesque sunset locations. The new owners plan to respectfully develop the outdoor space with a new deck area to accommodate outdoor dining starting with a guest breakfast and additional meals to follow later this year. Plans also include live music and local entertainment for all to enjoy.
Weekend stays at The LakeHouse Inn currently start at $225 per night (plus taxes and fees).
Insider Tip: Make reservations directly on the inn’s website lakehouseinnlee.com to reserve the specific room you want. Stays purchased through online tour operators allow you to select a room type, but not the exact room, view, layout, etc.
